1. What It Is
- The Material: Expanded Thermoplastic Polyurethane (eTPU).
- The Build: Polymer beads steam-fused together under pressure to create a grid of microscopic, spring-like air capsules.
- The Purpose: Replaces heavy, stiff industrial midsoles with a lightweight, high-performance running shoe chassis adapted for safety compliance.
2. Technical Performance Benefits
- 70% Energy Return: Absorbs high impact and bounces back, significantly reducing foot fatigue on hard concrete floors.
- Ultra-Lightweight: Dramatically lowers the overall weight of the shoe compared to standard EVA or PU foam.
- Anti-Compression (Longevity): Resists "packing out" or flattening over time, keeping its shape and cushioning for the lifespan of the shoe.
- Temperature Proof: Maintains the exact same flexibility and softness in sub-zero freezers or extreme outdoor heat.
3. Industrial Adaptation
To make soft running foam safe for the workplace, Reebok modifies it with:
- Stability Cradles: Nests the soft core inside a firmer outer rim to prevent ankle rolling on uneven surfaces.
- Weight Offset: The ultra-light foam balances out heavy safety caps (Steel/Composite toes) so the shoe still feels like a sneaker.
- Safety Continuity: Specially formulated to integrate seamlessly with EH (Electrical Hazard) or SD (Static Dissipative) safety ratings.
