Sublite Cushion

Sublite Cushion is Reebok Work’s proprietary lightweight foam technology. While Floatride Energy focuses on springy bounce-back, Sublite is engineered specifically for weight reduction and deep flexibility without sacrificing industrial protection.

1. What It Is

  • The Material: A specialized low-density Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA) polymer blend.
  • Deep Flex Grooves: The foam midsole features deep, engineered geometric cutouts along the outsole. This design allows the shoe to bend naturally with the foot's biomechanics, eliminating the stiff "clunky boot" feel.

2. Core Benefits

  • Extreme Weight Reduction: Shaves off significant weight, allowing Reebok to produce ASTM-certified safety shoes that weigh less than standard casual sneakers (often under 12 ounces per shoe).
  • Deep Flexibility: The grooved foam matrix allows for a full range of motion, reducing the energy required to lift and flex your foot during long shifts.
  • Ground Contact Design: By reducing the need for heavy rubber outsoles, Sublite foam allows for direct ground feedback, improving balance and spatial awareness on the job.

3. Workplace Safety Adaptation

  • Targeted Rubber Pads: To keep the shoe light, Reebok removes full-length rubber outsoles. Instead, they strategically fuse slip-resistant rubber pads directly onto the high-contact areas of the Sublite foam (the heel and toe).
  • MemoryTech Massage Footbed: Sublite works as a system. Reebok pairs the lightweight midsole with a memory foam insole featuring raised profile pods to soothe the foot on impact.
  • Alloy/Composite Pairing: Sublite is most frequently paired with premium Alloy or Composite safety toes to ensure the entire shoe remains ultra-light from top to bottom.
