Reebok Work footwear safety standards.

1. The Core Standards

Every Reebok Work shoe is certified under one of two base standards:

  • ASTM F2413: Performance requirements for Protective (Safety Toe) footwear.
  • ASTM F2892: Performance requirements for Soft Toe (Non-Safety) footwear.

2. Safety Codes & Features Decoded

Impact & Compression (Safety Caps)

  • I/75 & C/75: Guarantees the toe cap withstands an impact of up to 75 ft-lbs and a compression load of up to 2,500 lbs.
  • Reebok Options: Steel (classic protection), Alloy (lightweight metal), or XTR® Composite (100% metal-free, lightweight, airport-friendly).

Electrical & Environmental Protection

  • EH (Electrical Hazard): Non-conductive soles that act as a secondary barrier against open circuits up to 600 Volts in dry conditions.
  • SD 10 / SD 35 (Static Dissipative): Bleeds static electricity from your body safely into the ground. Reebok uses a patented Dual Resistor system for backup safety.
  • PR (Puncture Resistant): Features a protective plate embedded in the midsole to block nails and sharp objects from piercing the foot.
  • MetGuard: An embedded, flexible top-of-foot guard (often featuring Flex-Met® tech) protecting the metatarsal bones.

Slip Resistance

  • ASTM F3445 (SRO): The standard for slip resistance. Reebok shoes marked with SRO or featuring MaxTRAX® rubber outsoles are certified to exceed the safety threshold for traction on wet and oily floors.
